I have been quite creative in the last few days, trying out new crafts and reading up on new techniques. I am not quite ready to share the results or my new prototypes, (They are still on the drawing table! ) but I needed a place for my ideas so I made a little „Creative Journal“ just for myself to keep all of my recent project ideas (and secrets). Among the SU Products that I used, which I will describe below, I wanted to bring to your attention the new Sale-A-Bration „Textured Impressions“ embossing folder called „Vine Street“ (deut. Retro-Reben) I used with my Big Shot to add a little dimension. I just adore its versatility.Today I used a design paper which will be retiring soon. (because I can 😉 AND because everything by SU matches (Double smiley! 🙂 🙂 ) BUT…just imagine how great it looks with the matching 12×12 SAB Design Papers „Sycamore Street“ (deut. „Bunter Basar“) and matching Stamp-Set! „Madison Avenue“ (Yay! I love coordinating products!!!) More to come!
Here is a little peek at my journal! I think it looks quite cute. I mixed 3 of my favorite Stampin‘ Up Stamp-Sets; French Foliage, Creative Expressions, and my newest favorite Papillion Popourri. The reitiring Design Paper is from the Fall Winter Catalogue called „Obst Ernte“ in german. (So if you MUST HAVE IT…order it before 31 January… or suffer in silence 😦 ) One of the techniques I like the most is the one I used on my little butterfly. I used several diferent SU markers randomly to color directly onto the stamp itself, then stamped it onto watercolor paper and used my Aqua Painter to move the color around a little bit.(but not too much) I think the „look“ is fabulous because I get a great Aquarelle „feeling“ without being a skilled watercolour artist. (And believe me, I have tried!) I punched the butterfly out with the new „Elegant Butterfly“ punch which is great because I have become too spoiled to cut out all of the intricate designs by hand, I rather save time for creating and my fingers from calouses! I still remember the „old fashion“ way of cutting everything out to get a 3-D effect! (No, Thanks!!! Ouch!! I’ve emancipated myself from this torture!) 😀 !!
I am writing in english today to give my brain a rest and not to have to do so much correcting! (Although, I did have to more correcting to do than I expected – even in my native language! There are truly no shortcuts in life! 😀 !)
Have a great crafty Sunday!
